network work
your node can do more than relay
- 6: Jobs a node can be paid for66
- 1: Folded proof per epoch for phones to check, instead of thousands11
- 50: Tokens, the lowest stake floor, for mesh bridging5050
- 99 %: Monthly uptime a storage disk needs9999%
Turn on a job and the network pays you for it, every epoch, on ciphertext or published data only.
proof aggregation
Fold every spend and contract proof in an epoch into one recursive STARK, so phones verify one small proof instead of thousands.
Hardware: Apple silicon Mac or recent desktop, 16 GB memory.
encrypted storage
Hold erasure-coded ciphertext shards of sites, media, backups and the network archive. Random challenges prove you still have them; you’re paid per byte-day.
Hardware: A disk that stays online.
public media renditions
Encode ñü.media versions of posts their creators published openly and asked the network to render. Private media never leaves the sender’s device.
Hardware: Apple silicon Mac or a hardware encoder.
private lookups
Answer name, key and directory lookups with private information retrieval, so you answer a query without learning what was asked.
Hardware: 8 GB memory per database shard.
randomness and timestamps
Sign the threshold randomness beacon for lotteries, ballots and fair ordering, and batch post-quantum timestamps that prove a hash existed at a given time.
Hardware: An always-on node.
mesh and satellite bridging
Carry sealed mix packets between places with no internet and the rest of the network, over Wi-Fi HaLow, Bluetooth or satellite.
Hardware: suñůlink.shield, a Raspberry Pi 5 with a HaLow radio, or a satellite link.

~node work # roles, earnings and challenges this epoch
~node work enable storage --gb 500 --class durable
~node work enable render
~node work enable aggregator
~node work orders # contract work orders this node can take
~node work take <order-id>how you’re paid
- From the network: each job produces a signed work receipt, checked by challenges, auditors or the proof itself. Each epoch the protocol pays every role in proportion to verified work.
- From contracts: anyone can commission a job with a work order, such as a year of archive storage for a site or renditions of a film. The contract checks your receipts and pays you in shielded notes, without learning which node you are.
- Penalties: a failed challenge or a forged receipt loses that role’s pay for the epoch and part of your stake.
stake and hardware
| Role | Stake floor | Hardware |
|---|---|---|
| aggregator | 1,000 | Apple silicon Mac or recent desktop, 16 GB memory |
| storage | 100 per TB | A disk online at least 99% of the month |
| render | 500 | Apple silicon Mac or hardware encoder |
| pir | 500 | 8 GB memory per shard |
| beacon | 2,000 | Always-on lease for the whole era |
| mesh | 50 | suñůlink.shield, Raspberry Pi 5 with HaLow, or a satellite link |
Stake floors are in network tokens and change only through governance.
